Siol nan Gaidheal Canada
The Scots in Canada

introduction

*Your Participation is Invited*

We would love to receive submissions for inclusion into the site relating to Scottish Canadian immigrant family histories and experiences within the various districts. Please contact:

webmaster@siol-nan-gaidheal-canada.com

Necessarily, it would be appreciated if second hand accounts could be kept to a page or two however original accounts, i.e. in their own words, are sought after in their entirety. These could also include reminiscences from the Highland clearances or other circumstances in Scotland and the passage over. The stories will then be linked to their appropriate destination such as Nova Scotia, Glengarry Ontario, etc.

The site is organized by Province, each with the localities that attracted significant Scottish settlement in a sub heading underneath, then from the localities you will find links to the places, people and events connected with it. Community monographs have been kept short to facilitate browsing, reading and printing out, there may be revisions from time to time for the inclusion of further relevant information.

This site is maintained as a free resource for those interested in the history, and with the hope that it will continue to grow as a living document to the memories of the Scots that contributed their lives to founding this nation, Canada.
